Today we’d like to introduce you to Stephanie Clegg.
Hi Stephanie, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
It was during Covid. Life felt uneasy, uncertain, like the ground had shifted beneath everyone’s feet. I was in that in-between space too, but there was something else stirring in me. My 40th birthday was a few years away, babies had been born, they were growing up and I found myself quietly searching. Not for anything I could name yet just for something different. Something that felt like mine.
That’s when I went to Miraval in Tucson.
I can’t fully explain what happened there, except to say that something unlocked. The noise quieted. I felt like myself again maybe for the first time in a long time. And I kept going back, because that feeling was worth chasing.
But the more I experienced it, the more I sat with a question: why does feeling this way have to be so out of reach for most people? We can’t all go to Arizona or to a hotel to connect withourselves in a spiritual and metaphysical way. And I wanted to take what I had learned, what I had felt, and bring it back to my community. To make it available. To make it real for everyday life.
That’s how The Monarch Soul was born. I opened our studio in Coronado to create a space where people could come back to themselves through energy healing, soul alignment sessions, and mindfulness programming for both adults and kids — without wellness feeling like a luxury reserved for the few.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Smooth? In some ways, yes of course. In others absolutely not. And I think both things are true at the same time.
The hardest part in the beginning was simply the diving in. This world was new to me. I had so many questions swirling will this work? Will people be receptive? Can I really step into this new identity openly? There’s a vulnerability in that, in saying to the world: this is who I am now. That took courage I had to build in real time.
And then there’s the business side. I’ve always been an entrepreneur at heart, so that part felt familiar in ways but building something in the wellness space was a different kind of challenge. There’s so much to figure out, so much that nobody teaches you. You learn by doing, and sometimes by stumbling.
But here’s what I’ve come to believe: when something is truly aligned, the path opens. Maybe not perfectly, maybe not on your timeline but it opens. And that trust has carried me through more than I can say.
That doesn’t mean there aren’t bumps. There always will be. I think I’ve made peace with that. The bumps aren’t signs that you’re going the wrong way. Sometimes they’re just part of the road.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
At The Monarch Soul, everything we do is designed with one intention: to help you get deeper in touch with who you are so you can actually manifest the life you’re meant to live.
That looks different for everyone. We offer transformative wellness experiences. we bring in the experts to facilitate experiences like psychic readings, mediums, sound baths, drum circles, psychic and astrology readings, and creative expression experiences all rooted in the belief that self-discovery isn’t one-size-fits-all. Some people find themselves in the stillness of a sound bath. Others unlock something through creativity, or through a conversation with an astrologer that finally makes the pieces click.
One of the things I’m most proud of is our kids’ programming. Bringing mindfulness and art to children giving them tools to understand themselves early feels deeply important to me. If we can plant those seeds young, we change everything.
And then there’s Chrysalis Circle, my monthly membership community. That one is close to my heart. It’s a space where women come together for healing workshops, expert sessions, book club, group ceremony, and virtual programming all centered around transformation and connection. Because I truly believe we don’t have to do this alone. Growth is more powerful in community.
Speaking of community that word means everything to me. I live here. I love San Diego and Coronado deeply. Getting to host floating sound baths at the Hotel Del and Kona Kai, being woven into the fabric of this place that’s not lost on me. This isn’t just where I work. It’s home. And building something that gives back to a community I care about so is what I’m most proud of, above everything else.
What sets us apart? I think it’s the wholeness of it. We’re not one thing. We’re a living, breathing space where many paths lead to the same destination — you, more fully yourself.
Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
What makes The Monarch Soul what it is truly is the people who walk through my butterfly doors. You’ll feel it the moment you step inside. It’s filled with love. That’s not something I manufactured or planned. It just is, because of the people who show up.
Whether you’re dipping your toe into wellness for the very first time or you already have a practice of your own, you are welcome here. That’s something I mean with my whole heart. This space was built to be inclusive, a place where healing doesn’t feel intimidating or out of reach, just warm and real and yours.
And I’ll let you in on a little secret: every single time someone books an experience or walks through those doors, I do a little happy dance. Every time. Because it never gets old. People choosing themselves, choosing to invest in how they feel, that genuinely lights me up.
So come as you are. We’ll be here.
