Today we’d like to introduce you to Desiree Salameh
Hi Desiree, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Hi I am Desireé! I’m a full time mom and content creator. I recently took a pause from my full-time career in Resort Meeting Sales as
my family navigated an unexpected full home remodel and mold remediation. This past year, I
focused on improving my health, wellness, and diving deeper into my creative side – especially
on Instagram!
I’ve always loved finding great deals, decorating our home, and capturing special moments with
my daughters, so content creation naturally became a hobby for me. Even though I
stepped away from my career, I have a drive and passion to work. I took on the role of
General Contractor for our home projects, advocating for my family’s health after dealing with
mold illness, all while growing my creative side hustle on IG.
I’ve been incredibly fortunate to collaborate with amazing brands, especially in the home decor
space, as we had to make a house a home, on a budget! My page is all about lifestyle,
motherhood, and home décor but more importantly, it’s real. I share the raw and honest side of
motherhood and life, not just the picture-perfect moments. Some aspects of social media can
sometimes feel like an airbrushed highlight reel and I never want my community to feel like they
have to compare.
Here, it’s a mix of everything – the hot mess moments, the pretty ones, and all the little
meaningful moments in-between. My goal is to bring laughter, authenticity, and some
aesthetically pleasing content to the feed!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Life took a big turn in 2021 when we moved into a beautiful home in a highly sought-after
neighborhood. My daughters called it the “princess house” because it was our dream home. What
should have been a dream quickly became a mystery as our family started experiencing
unexplained illnesses that left doctors baffled. Over the years, our health and immune systems
declined without any clear answers.
I finally decided to take matters into my own hands. After countless hours of research and
scrolling, I became convinced that our home was making us sick. At one point, a doctor told me
my immune system was as weak as someone undergoing chemotherapy – but he couldn’t explain
why. Desperate for answers, we hired We Inspect, a local well-known mold inspection company,
and their findings confirmed my suspicions. Our home had dangerously high levels of toxic
black mold, completely hidden from sight. On top of that, we discovered two massive roof leaks
that had been missed in multiple inspections.
While the diagnosis was devastating and overwhelming, it was also validating. We finally had an
answer. Our home was making us sick.
After an intense full-home remodel, we finished construction this summer and I’m beyond
grateful to say that our family is healthy again! My daughters are happy and thriving, and for the
first time in years, I finally feel like me again. Throughout this journey, I was open about our
struggles on Instagram, and in doing so, I’ve been able to help dozens of others who were
searching for answers to their own health challenges.
This experience led me to take my passion for content creation and dive deeper. EH Wellness
truly comes from the heart, named after my daughters, Everly and Harlow. My goal is to educate
others about mold illness and help people navigate the frustrating process of finding answers to
unexplained health issues. My girls were my driving force in uncovering the truth, advocating for
our family, and fighting for our health. Now that we’re on the other side of it, I’m embracing a
fresh start. It’s been so rewarding to collaborate with brands as we replaced everything, curtains,
rugs, beds, bedding, couches, and more, creating a home that is not only safe but beautiful, too!
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a mom to two wonderful girls, Everly and Harlow, and married to a Fire Chief. Life
is a constant juggling act, balancing motherhood, being a first responder’s wife, and
everything in between, all while carving out that time and space for my creative side on
Instagram.
On my page, I keep it real. I share the good, the messy, the fun, and of course, my love
for home decor and motherhood. I also love highlighting local activities with my kids, my
favorite spas, coffee shops, and hidden gems in our community. Supporting small
businesses and giving them the love they deserve brings me so much joy!
Most recently, after going through an unexpected full home remodel and mold
remediation, I’ve opened up about our family’s journey to recover from mold illness.
Being so candid about our experience has allowed me to help dozens of others facing
similar challenges, which has truly been the silver lining of the past few difficult years.
Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
I moved out at 17 and hustled my way through high school and college, working two
jobs the entire time. Slowing down has never really been my thing. I thrive on projects,
staying busy, and always having something to do.
I try to squeeze in some self-care with a pedicure or spa day, but let’s be real… I’m
usually answering emails, brainstorming my next idea, or making a mental to-do list
while I’m supposed to be “relaxing.” It’s Balance, right?
