Exploring Life & Business with Tori Morrison of TM SEO Services

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tori Morrison. 

Tori, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I’ve been a writer my entire life. You should have seen me as a kid – I always had a stack of library books on me. I’ve worked as a travel writer, local magazine editor, and SEO content writer – to name a few roles. Writing is my thing, that one thing that has always come naturally to me. It also lights me up. If you see me typing away at a keyboard, the chances are I’m in that flow space aka my happy place. 

When COVID-19 hit I was working as an SEO manager for a digital marketing agency in Los Angeles, CA. I’d been wanting to start my own business for a while but found myself struggling to let go of the safety of a corporate job. When I secured a couple of clients in San Diego, CA, I knew I had to take the leap, although that didn’t happen for quite some time as I experienced a lot of self-doubt and imposter syndrome. Starting my business for real was one of the most challenging and rewarding events in my life. Not only did the process help me gain confidence as an SEO consultant, but it also boosted my inner confidence as well. It completely transformed how I view challenges now too. Instead of panicking or thinking “oh shit there’s no way I can do this,” I roll up my sleeves and go “okay, what can I do today to fix this and set myself up for success in the future if this happens again?” I’ve witnessed myself overcome so many hurdles to make this business work, and I’m so incredibly proud of the woman I’ve become. 

Today, I run an SEO company in San Diego, CA that is client-centered and personable. I work mostly with health and fitness-related businesses around North County San Diego and make SEO fun and easy on them. You can probably find me at La Costa Lofty with my Golden Retriever puppy, creating SEO strategy presentations or interacting with my clients in real life. Come say hi if you see me. Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I’d say one of the biggest struggles was choosing to go all in on believing in myself. I started my company by myself without any help or funding, so I really had to trust that I could run a successful business and do so quickly. I’ve definitely had my doubts and my fair share of “WHAT IF THIS DOESN’T WORK OUT” moments, but I know myself now, and I know I’ve got me. 

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I run an SEO company that specializes in on-page SEO although we also offer SEO strategy, SEO auditing, and off-page SEO support as well. We really love working with health and fitness-related companies in San Diego, CA, although we also work with lawyers and business consultants as well. What sets us apart is our commitment to our clients and our local touch. We work with many San Diego-based companies and often conduct strategy sessions with them in person. We also just genuinely love what we do and really do go above and beyond for our clients.

Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
My favorite childhood memory was falling in love with reading in 2nd grade.
