Exploring Life & Business with Waldemar Sirko of SIRKO FITNESS | SIRKO RETREAT

Today we’d like to introduce you to Waldemar Sirko. Them and their team share their story with us below:

Waldemar Sirko is an International Sports Sciences Association Certified Fitness Trainer and Yoga Arts therapist. Waldemar is deeply trained in every aspect of fitness from muscle mechanics and flexibility to cardiovascular dynamics and nutrition. He has the training and experience to help his clients reach the goals of living a stronger, healthier, more confident life.

Waldemar specializes in Yoga, Fitness, and Life coaching. Sirko also draws on his own personal experience to help clients who struggle with a physical limitation or injury work through it by respecting their restrictions, but also not allowing them to limit themselves with boundaries that others say exist:

“I believe that fitness is an individual journey. That is why I am a health and fitness trainer who specializes in creating health and wellness programs to fit each of my client’s individual goals and needs. You can be certain, however, that I push each of my clients to achieve their highest level of fitness success possible. Together, my clients and I set sustainable goals that foster a balanced healthy life. I help my clients transform their lives so that they look and feel their best – and I help them enjoy themselves along the journey.”

Sirko has launched his own personal training and wellness retreats business, SIRKO Fitness serving the entire Los Angeles metropolitan area and New York City area.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
What I do remember when starting out on my journey is that it wasn’t easy- I’m actually currently writing a book about it. We all do have obstacles and challenges no matter who we are, where we are coming from or what we do. I was definitely shy, very often not confident and I felt alone- I didn’t feel like I fit in. Because I felt this way, I found something that I enjoyed and something that would make me feel good. And that was running. When I first started running, I was running from the things that didn’t make me feel good. Running was my escape, and I started using it as my outlet to escape the feeling of being isolated. I pushed the boundaries of what I thought was possible by just moving forward in spite of not having much support from my network. Running was my one constant that helped me to navigate through the different stages of my life, and it provided me with a sense of freedom to mold me into the person that I am now. I’m currently on the mission to complete 50 marathons in 50 states- during this journey, I have a pleasure to meet and interview different marathon runners who share their stories with me and lessons their learned from overcoming their obstacles and challenges that they met on they journey.

We’re always looking for the lessons that can be learned in any situation, including tragic ones like the Covid-19 crisis. Are there any lessons you’ve learned that you can share?
Definitely, I am grateful for the COVID-19 Crisis- in many ways we experienced horrible things like losing friends and family members, but at the same time, I do believe that it was a gift for all of us to start appreciating life more. In many ways, I do believe and I hope that many of us woke up and we will enjoy moments and appreciate people in our lives more.
