Life and Work with Gisele Esquer and Adriana Jacobo

Today we’d like to introduce you to Gisele Esquer and Adriana Jacobo.

Gisele and Adriana, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
My mom and I have very similar personalities, we’ve always been very hard-working women, the kind that are always looking for new things to do, and we would always plan what is next in our lives. I remember at the point my mom mentioned she wanted to have her own business I was still kind of young and didn’t know what I wanted as a career in the future, so I didn’t pay much attention to it.

It wasn’t until I was actually working for an amazing big company that I realized how much effort I was putting into growing somebody else’s business instead of one that was mine. So the idea of having a business of my own started growing and my mom was still on the same page, so partnering up was definitely a great idea. At first, we would meet up just to think of some business ideas, and eventually, we came up with the dress rental opportunity. We both love fashion and social events, so we instantly fell in love with our new project. We opened our doors in May 2018 with a very strong commitment: to provide the most gratifying dress rental experience for all the women that came to our store.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
We’ve faced some challenges but the coronavirus lockdown has definitely been the toughest one so far. Many, if not all, of the events have been canceled or postponed, and the dress rental business has been affected just as many other businesses in the event industry. It’s a challenging position but we both believe that adapting to the current situation is key. With this kind of situations, it is always important to look for new ways to generate income and be able to adjust strategies for the present time and for the future direction.

One advice we would give to people that are just starting their journey is to build a strong relationship with their customers. With the coronavirus situation going on, we have learned that our investment in loyalty has been one of the most valuable assets we have built as a brand.

Casa Moda – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Our main purpose has always been to provide the perfect dress rental experience. We want you to find the ideal dress quickly, with a very distinguished attention, we want you to receive your dress in perfect conditions and of course, that you capture the brand essence when you visit our neat, friendly and modern store.

Our clients constantly let us know how comfortable and happy they feel at our store. They even stay longer just to keep looking at our accessories or just to keep chatting. This means a lot to us because it confirms that we are going towards the direction we always wanted. Customers have identified all of these elements and we’ve had the pleasure of receiving very positive comments coming from them.

Honestly, this wouldn’t be possible without the amazing work done by our staff, of whom we are extremely proud of. Thanks to them, we have achieved the environment we wanted since we began with this project. The dress selection is another element that has been highlighted by our clients, especially good quality and design. It is very important for us that our dresses speak for our brand, which is why we take great care of this aspect and our clients have been able to recognize it.
