Today we’d like to introduce you to Nazli Takesh Boshell.
Hi Nazli, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start, maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers.
I took my first yoga teacher training in 2013. I was lost, recently laid off of work, and needed direction. I decided to take a chance on something I never thought would become my career.
Fast forward the years, and I’ve now taken more trainings than I can count and have made yoga and mindfulness (in its many forms) my path. My passions and work now includes: yoga asana, meditation, sound healing, training yoga teachers, and leading retreats!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has been smooth in the sense that I have found work and opportunities to be abundant. The not-so-smooth parts are really just the fact that you are working for yourself, and you get to choose…everything! It’s up to you what studios and brands to align with, what jobs to take, how to get more work when you need it — it’s all up to you! That can be hard. And also learning how to say no to work you no longer align with. Self-growth is a big part of working in this industry, and honoring your boundaries can be challenging. But in the end, the struggles are so worth the fulfillment!
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
My work now focuses on leading events and workshops around yoga and sound healing, training yoga teachers through Gaia Yoga School (a 200-hour program created by 3 teachers including myself), and providing classes, workshops, retreats, and experiences to both empower and educate individuals on how to take care of themselves.
I have been studying these modalities for close to 10 years (more than 10 actually as I was a student for many years before), and my balance of educating myself and then offering to others is something I am proud of. I am forever curious and a student, and know that the more you learn the more you realize you don’t know. It’s exciting!
Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
My husband and my family have been HUGE supporters of my work, of all the wild ideas I have as I build my business, and as I stepped away from work and honored my boundaries and ethics. I’ve also met an amazing group of teachers who I have worked alongside for years who inspire me daily ◡̈.
