Meet Andrea Leigh Cox

Today we’d like to introduce you to Andrea Leigh Cox.

Andrea Leigh, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I’m originally from a small town in Ohio. I was a fitness model throughout my 20s and healed myself from an eating disorder by transitioning onto 100% vegan raw diet. I wrote my first book Raw-licous Recipes and was brought out to San Diego By San Diego raw food company to work for Show expo west in Anaheim.

While at the show, I met my first celebrity client and the rest is history.

Since moving to San Diego eight years ago, I’ve been featured on KUSI several times the Delmar times the Union-Tribune along with national publications. I also began two YouTube channels which both hover around 18,000 subscribers one having close to 4 million views. Much growth is ahead but it’s safe to say San Diego has been good to me.

I absolutely LOVE Detoxing people on a cellular level. It’s time that we work as a community to get back to Mother Earth. Seeing all of us as “a whole”. We must begin teaching children at a young age that eating dead decomposing animals is not a part of the greater consciousness. And it’s certainly not saving our planet. People are paying psychiatrists for their emotional issues when the truth is “our issues live in our tissues”. If we don’t first detoxify the body, we won’t be able to sleep to heal our deep-rooted emotional issues.

This is what I teach people at my juice fasting spiritual retreats here in San Diego.

People begin cleansing their bodies and don’t understand why their dreams grow more vivid and old childhood traumas come up. I’m there to hold your hand every step of the way.

I’ve got great goals for all of us as a whole for 2020. One of those goals is to raise awareness for the voiceless… the animals. Animals, just like people feel pain and sadness. Adopting a plant-based diet is not only healthy for the body it’s also better for the planet. This dream of raising awareness through detoxification has been my journey until this point. Connecting the well-being of the animals, our traumas and our health has become my Spiritual Sadhna

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Oh my! Where to begin! where to begin! Coming from the Midwest, I always like to look at everyone as having each other’s backs. After just revitalizing my two websites from a personal situation that involved a hacking I can honestly say that I am keeping my circle small these days while spreading the light. I still look at everyone I meet as having a divine purpose for the highest good of all.

I will say on a positive note it has been a beautiful thing being vegan for 18 years to watch how the vegan community has grown.

What do you do, what do you specialize in, what are you known for, etc. What are you most proud of? What sets you apart from others?
I think what sets me apart from other people in the wellness community is I really connect the dots karmically with mental health and the physical body.

I have a strong spiritual practice and a keen intuition that allows me to see what a person is doing wrong within their food regime and also how it affects their inner personal relationships.

Again, “our issues live in our tissues”. These health, wellness and relationship issues run deep. Some aren’t even stemming from this lifetime and once people make the connection, usually by hiring me as their coach or, by attending one of my retreats“they get it”.

I think I’m known as the juicing Queen, however, my Chaga tonics are quite powerful too!

My clientele spans from celebrity clients such as Christopher Knight all the way to your average housewife. But my favorite type of client is one who has suffered either with addictions or a degenerative disease such as cancer. Because these are the people who truly want to get healthy from the inside out!

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
Ahh, the first year I moved to San Diego, I was hired by a Tony award-winning play right to make his food. I ended up making his food for several months as he put on a play at the Old Globe Theatre. I don’t make food for people anymore, however, that taught me more discipline in those six months and then, I had ever had before.

I would also say being interviewed by John Sally on his vegan show was quite the honor as well.

But above all of this, having one of my clients call me six months after she worked with me through my coaching program telling me that she was “cancer-free”. I’d say that was the moment that brought tears to my eyes.
