Hi Blooming House, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Ms. Ely and Ms. Ivonne, founders and Head Teachers at Blooming House Montessori, have a combined 20 years of experience in Early Childhood education and are both certified Montessori guides by the American Montessori Society (AMS), as well as the Association Montessori Internationale (AMI). After working together in a Montessori environment for many years, they decided to make their dream of opening a preschool of their own a reality; Opening the doors to a loving, caring, peaceful, and safe environment where children can bloom at their own pace. Blooming House Montessori is a new authentic Spanish-Immersion Montessori preschool and kindergarten in Encinitas!

They have created beautiful and nurturing environments where children can explore their surroundings and have an opportunity to adapt and blossom. They are devoted to creating a home away from home.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
One of the biggest challenges we have had in this process of opening our preschool has been finding a convenient and safe location for parents and children. We wanted to find a place that was in the heart of the community of Encinitas for parents to conveniently travel to and from pick-up and drop-off. Another challenge was navigating the complex permit and licensing processes.

At Blooming House Montessori we are overjoyed to open our doors to the children of this community. By providing children with the opportunity to learn another language in a Montessori setting, Blooming House will equip them with a valuable asset that will benefit them academically, professionally, and personally throughout their lives. Blooming House offers an authentic Spanish-Immersion Montessori program with a 90% Spanish and 10% English curriculum. Our environments are designed for small groups with multi-age environments and multiple programs and schedules available that will fit daily life. Blooming House Montessori offers immersion environments led by teachers who are not only Montessori trained, but are also native Spanish speakers. The exposure to native Spanish allows children to learn the language with a natural accent and pronunciation, easily and successfully. Bilingualism has demonstrated cognitive, academic, and personal benefits for children, fostering strong thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills.

What does success mean to you?
Blooming House Montessori aims to cultivate children to be independent free thinkers, joyful learners, confident individuals, and active participants in the community. We strive to be role models through dignity, care, patience, and love. We believe in the education we give our children, and we care about developing students to be responsible leaders of the future, thus making a better tomorrow. We believe that full immersion is the best way to learn a second language. Children will naturally begin to think and communicate in Spanish. Total exposure provides a full experience of speaking a second language.
