Today we’d like to introduce you to Charles Walker.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Charles. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
The Temecula Valley Entrepreneur’s Exchange (TVE2) was founded six years ago to serve as a regional hub for business resources and a key foundation for a thriving entrepreneurial ecosystem in Southwest Riverside County. The business resource center connects people and ideas with knowledge and resources to promote economic growth in the Temecula Valley while our incubator gives startup companies a fighting chance to learn and develop in the crucial first two years of growth. During this time we have conducted hundreds of local small business consultations through our partnership with the Inland Empire Small Business Development Center (IESBDC), offered numerous educational workshops and professional development training opportunities, and nurtured dozens of startups in our business incubator.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Because the goals of the Temecula Valley Entrepreneur’s Exchange are based on providing business support and encouraging the creation of local jobs to enrich the economy, the largest challenges we face are attracting and retaining the sort of high-level talent that is necessary to support a growing entrepreneurial ecosystem. We believe that each successful event, each consultation, and each startup in our incubator brings us closer and closer to reaching the tipping point of realizing a truly self-sustaining entrepreneurial landscape characterized by innovative solutions, robust growth, and socially conscious business practices.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Temecula Valley Entrepreneur’s Exchange – what should we know?
The Temecula Valley Entrepreneur’s Exchange (TVE2) provides support to fledgling businesses designed to stimulate and nurture entrepreneurial activity in the Temecula Valley by focusing on the intersection of business education, material support, expert consultation services, and industry-specific mentorship to provide small businesses with the tools needed for seamless and sustainable growth. Our commitment to building the TVE2 brand will result in more frequent and more concentrated positive outcomes for a small business providing not only a strong base of commercial activity but also a thriving business development ecosystem attracting greater levels of talent and investment to the Temecula Valley.
Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
The success of the incubator cannot be attributed to just one or even a handful of individuals, but we would like to especially recognize the continued support of the Temecula City Council as well as contributions of our partners at the Inland Empire Small Business Development Center, and the Economic Development Coalition.
