Meet Sara Bendrick-Torres of Sarita Landscape Inc

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sara Bendrick-Torres

Hi Sara, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I first discovered Landscape Architecture as a career option while at Cuyamaca Community College while exploring their Horticulture department. I transferred to Cal Poly San Luis Obispo graduating with a BS in Landscape Architecture in 2010. I worked for a small design build company before starting Sarita Landscapes, eventually earning my Landscape Contractors License to operate as a full design-build landscape company. Throughout my professional life I’ve had the incredible opportunities to participate in hosting landscape renovation show on Discovery Network channels.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
As a first time business owner back in the day, there was a lot to learn. The hardest part was figuring out organization as the company grew and tracking all the finances. Luckily, I was able to discover some great programs like Jobber and I also brought on an awesome project manager that thrives at some of stuff I struggle with.

As you know, we’re big fans of Sarita Landscape Inc. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Sarita Landscape Inc is a full service Landscape Design Build firm. We focus on creative, drought tolerant and California friendly landscapes.

Founded in 2012 by landscape architect student, C-27 landscape contractor, and TV host Sara Bendrick, Sarita Landscapes has become one of San Diego’s premier landscape design and build companies.

At Sarita Landscapes, we lead with creativity, craftsmanship, and customer service. We offer innovative design solutions tailored to our clients needs, partner with skilled artisans who uphold the highest standards, and ensure our clients feel informed and respected throughout the process.

What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
Persistence. I don’t get discouraged easily. Having a great team for creative problem solving.
