Hi Stephanie, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
In the early 2000s, I founded Double Happiness Jewelry, which I rooted in a love for design and gemstones. Each piece was thoughtfully crafted to not only adorn the body but also to resonate with the wearer’s spirit. Through my designs I tried to balance of elegance and individuality, and that quickly captured the attention of the fashion world.
Double Happiness Jewelry became a favorite among tastemakers and celebrities, including Oprah Winfrey, Beyoncé, Victoria Beckham, and Kim Kardashian. The brand’s pieces were featured in over 500 fashion magazines—including more than 50 covers—and sold in top retailers like Anthropologie, Free People, Nordstrom, Fenwicks of London, and Paul & Joe France.
The brand took off and soon I found myself selling to over 500 stores world wide. In 2011, I was asked to design and be on air for Jewelry Television (JTV) network, which shared my designs with a broader audience. I also authored the best-selling The Earring Style Book in 2010, which became the #8 craft book on Amazon.
A Shift Toward Well-Being and Intention
While I enjoyed tremendous success with Double Happiness Jewelry, I soon found another love – learning about our brain and nervous system. I became deeply passionate about studying the brain, nervous system, aromatherapy, and the olfactory system, earning certifications in Neuro-Linguistic Programming (2017) and Hypnotherapy (2019).
This study opened my eyes to the profound impact that fragrance, visual aesthetics, and intentional design could have on the psyche. I began to envision a product that would not only serve as a beautiful accessory but also create an immersive sensory experience to improve emotional well-being.
The Creation of Shooska Scented Car Jewelry
In 2022, I started working on Shooska Scented Car Jewelry, an innovative product that reimagines the traditional car air freshener. Drawing on her 23 years of experience in jewelry design, her expertise in gemstones, and her knowledge of aromatherapy, Shooska was designed to transform the car into a sanctuary of calm and inspiration. In 2024 I officially launched it.
Shooska combines three key elements:
Luxury Design: Each piece is a work of art, blending elegance and functionality to enhance the aesthetic of any vehicle.
Intentional Fragrances: Shooska’s perfumes are free from phthalates, parabens, and endocrine disruptors, delivering a clean, pure scent that uplifts and soothes the driver’s mood.
Gemstone Power: The use of metaphysical gemstones, such as the Imani Rose Quartz, infuses each product with energy that promotes love, compassion, and emotional healing.
Shooska Scented Car Jewelry is more than a car accessory—it’s a revolution in how we approach the driving experience. By combining the science of the brain and nervous system with the artistry of jewelry design, Stephanie has created a product that positively impacts the psycho-physiological state of drivers, enhancing their mood and focus on the road.
And that brings us to today – I have synthesized by loves and passions and am working to help transform the driving experience for all who want to feel better while they drive and when they arrive.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Creating Shooska was easy because I understood how to develop and manufacture it. The challenge is that about social media versus working with celebs and editors. With Double Happiness, we benefited from the celebrities, editors, and tastemakers who loved our brand, helping support and educate the public. It’s all about social media today, which is an entirely different challenge! I am not a huge fan of social media, but I’m learning.
