Meet Trailblazer Hannah Naylor

Today we’d like to introduce you to Hannah Naylor.

Hannah, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
For as long as I can remember, I have always had a passion and an eye for creativity, party planning and special events. While growing up in San Diego, my hobbies were decorating, throwing parties, and arts and crafts. Using my creativity and my imagination has always been something I really enjoyed. People in my life were quick to notice this about me.

When I was in high school, my craft making skills evolved into party and event planning, planning proms, and organizing school functions. I was known as the girl who was super organized and could plan anything. To this day that girl has not changed. Fast forward ten years and Red Letter Events was born. After planning my own wedding from start to finish, I knew this wasn’t just a hobby, but it was something more. I decided to combine my career with my passion. What makes me so different from any other planner is my vision, and the heart and soul I put into every event. I have the unique ability to visualize your wish and make your dream a reality.

I absolutely adore what I do. This isn’t only a job for me, it’s my passion! I enjoy forming relationships with my clients and being the event planner they know they can count on. I enjoy every event that is thrown my way no matter what size, style or budget. I love watching all the hard work and planning come together and seeing the finished product. I truly enjoy every aspect of Event Planning and would love the opportunity to work with you to execute your vision!

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I think like anything in life, it takes time. I started from the bottom and have worked my way up. In the beginning… I was accepting everything and all jobs for little to nothing. I needed to get my feet wet and start somewhere. As I got more confident in myself and the services I offered… I started charging more and attracting a different clientele.

My advice to anyone women out there looking to start a business and become an entrepreneur… just dive headfirst, There is never going to be the right time to start a business. You just have to start somewhere! Be patient.

We’d love to hear more about Red Letter Events.
Red Letter Events is a wedding and special event planning company. I help clients build a vision of their event and make their vision a reality. I offer packages from full-planning to day-of coordination, I specialize solely in weddings but love any other special event thrown my way. My business name Red Letter is defined as “any day of great significance,” and that is exactly what I celebrate.

Starting a company in a market that is flooded can be challenging. How do you stand out from the rest? I don’t feel I have 100% mastered that… I strive every day to be a master of my trade. But I do know that I absolutely love what I do. Planning weddings and helping my clients with such a special day is such an honor to be apart of…. and something I don’t take lightly. I feel I stand out from the rest based on the connections I make with my clients. It’s a family. Clients from 4-5 years ago still stay in touch with me and that says something.
