Meet Tyler Whitmarsh of High Mountain Honey

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tyler Whitmarsh.

Tyler, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
We are a Family of traveling Beekeepers who’ve been Beekeeping for over a century. Our honeybees travel through California, Colorado, and Washington pollinating our nation’s food. Since our Bees travel, we are blessed with a variety of raw honey to choose from! After the pollination takes place, we transport our Bees along with all the honey back to Colorado in the High Mountains to harvest and continue pollinating. Our honey/beeswax is then shipped down to San Diego, where our distribution process begins. I take our families excess raw honey/beeswax and turn it into organic skincare products. 1/3 of every purchase goes back to the bees. Save the Bees, Save the World!

Has it been a smooth road?
It’s been an interesting journey but can’t complain at all! It’s a lifestyle! So far, we have been blessed for our bees as they are healthy and thriving back home during late spring/summer. This is just the beginning, and we are currently finishing our product line and launching into stores.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with High Mountain Honey – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
We specialize in raw honey and beeswax. As the youngest beekeeper in the family, I have take our products and created an organic skincare line. We’re known for our honey and honeycomb: absolutely quality, and exclusive nectars. In the skincare line, we are known for our beeswax body creams, body wash, face scrub, and milk & honey soaps. Much more to come in the future.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
Absolutely love San Diego! Born an raised here. Best part is all the people and diversity of cultures. Get to meet people from all over the world. Also, Love how people are more aware of organic and healthy lifestyles. Least thing would have to be the old school mindsets that don’t take time to research about what we do. Lots of assumptions when, in reality, we are part of a beekeeping community that helps our nation get its food by pollinating. We save bees and only take what’s extra. It’s simple, Save the Bees!
