Rising Stars: Meet Alicia Perry

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alicia Perry.

Alicia, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I have been with Consortium Holdings (CH PROJECTS) for over 7 years now, going on 8. I am currently fulfilling the Beverage Director role within CH PROJECTS.

I spent the majority of my career in the hospitality industry at Polite Provisions in Normal Heights. There I learned much of what I know today.

I very much enjoy working within bar spaces and cultivating environments that allow for career-oriented bartenders to develop and excel.

I hope that through my work I can act as a mentor to others and enable them to reach their own personal goals within the hospitality industry.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The biggest challenges that I have faced have been associated with shifting dynamics and cultures within the workspace. I aim to create spaces that allow for growth and development; spaces that are inclusive and nurturing to the needs of the employee as well as the business. Fostering positive work dynamics and mastering coachable moments during this process is key. You often need to remain unbiased, self-aware, and secure during this process, which can be a challenge itself.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I specialize in helping to oversee various bar spaces within Consortium Holdings. I aim to support and oversee the development of leaders within these bar spaces. By remaining open-minded, empathetic, and approachable, I feel I am able to build strong rapport with various individuals from all walks of life.

I aspire to act as an ambassador in some form by consciously embodying the values that I in turn wish to evoke from those I mentor and oversee.

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
What engages and motivates you? Getting connected with this at an early stage is imperative as there will likely be a point in your career where you feel stagnant or unsure of what to do next. You will want to reconnect with these driving factors, as they will help to inspire and re-energize you as needed. Working in the hospitality industry allows for an array of alluring opportunities. To stay aware of this, allows individuals to remain inspired and motivated.
