Meet Tony Schubert of Nerdigital Marketing

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tony Schubert.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Tony. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I originally got started thru a friend of mine. At the time I had just graduated from college and was working at a RadioShack (R.I.P) trying to figure out what to do with my life. My friend was a co-founder of a social media marketing company and got me an entry-level position as a social media manager.

After several months of working there, my manager at the time started talking to me about SEO. She had many years of SEO experience and encouraged me to start learning on my own. So every once and a while she would teach me some random SEO techniques here and there.

After a year of working for that company, I ended up moving from Phoenix to San Diego. I got a job working for a private company as a marketing assistant. In that company, I learned about email marketing by helping them create, segment, and send out promotional emails and newsletters. At the same time, I managed their social media channels and continued learning about SEO.

From that company, I got hired by a digital marketing agency in Hillcrest where I became an SEO account manager. It was at that company that I learned the bulk of my SEO knowledge. I worked with a lot of great knowledgeable people.

I worked there for several years managing accounts of all types, sizes, and industries. Overtime, the company and I didn’t quite see eye to eye. I believed in a more transparent approach to the client interactions. It was at this time that I decided that I wanted to go into business for myself. I wanted to start a company that treated their clients right by providing great quality marketing services while not treating each client like a dollar sign.

So I created Nerdigital Marketing.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I have been very lucky up to this point that I have not experienced any significant obstacles. I mostly, used Nerdigital for side work. Random projects here and there while I worked for other companies. (Never in a conflict of interest I might add).

The biggest struggle for me, as I feel for most companies, is finding clients. It seems there are more and more SEO’s popping up and every coffee house and cafe I go to.

Nerdigitial Marketing is digital marketing agency located in San Diego, CA. We specialize in providing affordable marketing solutions such as SEO, social media, local SEO, content marketing and PPC.

I pride myself in that we are not all about the monthly bill. Of course, every company’s goal is to grow and get bigger, and we plan on doing so by providing high-quality solutions at prices businesses can actually afford. We believe it is better to have consistent happy clients that pay less than short-term high-dollar clients that cancel with a bad taste in their mouth.

What has been the proudest moment of your career so far?
My proudest moment was when I was able to work Nerdigital full-time.
