Community Highlights: Meet Eddie Gracia of Grace Fitness 7 AKA GF7FIT

Today we’d like to introduce you to Eddie Gracia.

Hi Eddie, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I started my personal training business at a local gym, working as an independent contractor.

Later I would go to school and get my B.S and M.S. This would help me expand my resources and work with special population clientele that the basic personal trainer is just not prepared to work with.

Furthering my education has allowed me to work hand in hand with people recovering from injuries, whether they be work-related or sports-related.

I counsel many of my clients online, providing strength/conditioning programs as well as meal plans. I also work out of my garage gym where I can show hands on how to execute movement patterns with the greatest efficiently to avoid injury.

There can be so much confusion about what fitness trend to follow but that’s why I include the scientific method to my training regimens. I give evidence-based programs that yield the highest probability for success when adhered to.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
As of recently, the struggles were when one on one in person sessions came to a hault. Online sessions became that much more popular, but at the same time online appointments have their limitations like lack of hands on spotting in real-time.

Some of the struggles for online appointments include internet freezing, lack of expertise with technology for some clients and lack of that personal training experience.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
I have 11 years of personal training experience.

I specialize in improving performance for my clients. That means that if they are an athlete and run track, I make them faster. If they work construction, I make them better at lifting heavy objects by improving core strength and body awareness so they improve work output.

I’m known for being able to answer questions about fitness with actual science. This means that I provide evidence for my strategies and give scholarly articles or testimonials.

What makes me proud about what I do is that I can see the results of my clients even after years of working with them. This is because I actually take the time to educate them on lifestyle changes and keep it realistic.

I would like your readers to know that there are still good trainers out there.

I not only represent myself but the whole personal training industry, and it has gotten better in these last years.

Healthy weight loss programs, practical strength regimens, heart-healthy conditioning plans, online coaching are some of the services I offer.

How do you think about luck?
I’ve had the bad luck of being too blunt with people. This means that when people ask me if I can help them lose 100lbs in three months, I tell them that I can’t because it is not a realistic goal.

I’ve also had good luck in being straight up with my clients because they respect the fact that I’m not here to rip them off with fantasy fitness propaganda.
