Community Highlights: Meet Marissa Morales of You&I Organize

Today we’d like to introduce you to Marissa Morales.

Hi Marissa, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
It’s a long story, but I’ll try and sum it up. I was lost broken with no hope, faith or direction. I am a mom who struggled and finally when I hit rock bottom I reached up and cried to God and then this fire inside me ignited and I could not give up. I grew up with my single mom who always was on me and my sibling about cleaning, like she knew when a Knick knack was moved lol. I am thankful today that she taught me how to. As I grew older living in small spaces or rooms with children I wanted to create space for us all as it is important for our sanity. Even if it’s a little corner, I would create it. Eventually after my rock bottom, I did get up strong, glory to God, and doors began to open but it still didn’t feel complete. My mom also has a business for cleaning only, and I would help with that. Eventually I quit my 8-6 job and just went strong helping my mom. Customers would ask for organizing or if I can help with this or that and as cleaning was just the focus I couldn’t. That’s how God breathed this idea into me of starting on my own. I got to see how many people just need a extra hand to get to things that time keeps them from. So that’s me the extra hand. You&I organize is you tell me what you need and I got you. My business is built to help everyday life task that help keep life organized and clean, because life is messy.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road has not been smooth, at times. In the beginning it’s exciting and somewhat happy anxiety if that makes sense lol. But as time passed and my business became real, the areas of weakness and struggles became real too. The biggest struggles were and still sometimes are, the doubt, or the what ifs. But after I sit in my space and pray someone comes along who I get to serve and reminds me of why I’m striving to do what I do. I really do enjoy what I do and love all my
Customers

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
You&I Organize is your helping hand. The everyday side task, the things people want to get to but can’t, well I can. I specialize in cleaning, and organizing. I’m not like the typical organizer who is going to remodel your home, no, unless you want me to, as I just want to work with you and for you to help set up what you need set up, clean, declutter or at least make it fit to where you have space to move in.
, and tackle those things that just keep being missed. I’m understanding when it comes to trauma or sentimental values, as I have been dragged through the dirt as well. When helping someone my moto is “if you have to think about it too long, then you should let it go”. I also let my customers know “if I can do it, I will do it for you, no problem”. I am most proud of the people I come to serve and just being able to be there as that extra hand and am so thankful to God for this.

Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
I believe it is important to have that ONE person you know has your best interests, someone you can go to. That way when you do get stuck or stuck in your head, they can remind you of what will uplift you. I say that “one” because to much advice can also be nerve wrecking with the to many opinions, so in my case I keep one go to, and God. My one person is my Mom who also is a business owner for a cleaning company and I get to see her and how she goes through and gets through. I also have my faith in Christ Jesus which is where I find my courage and strength to trust in the path ahead of me and knowing that what may look like a mess can become a beautiful message. Which is life
