Exploring Life & Business with Chelsea Bond of Lingerie Leggings

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chelsea Bond.

Chelsea Bond

Hi Chelsea, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
In August of 2022, upon immersing myself in “YouTube University,” studying everything from real estate and small business to manifestation and psychology, the idea for Lingerie Leggings came to life. By the end of the year, I had completed my first photoshoots with California-based fashion photographer, DH Kong, and a maternity photographer, Meagan Heller. I found willing models, many of which were fellow dancers. The photoshoots brought energy to the brand and we felt the hype. Shortly after, my dance company featured Lingerie Leggings in a successful show—a perfect finale before a major shift. With many signs and synchronicities guiding me, I uprooted my life and made the big move from Northern California to San Diego.

One year later, after settling into Point Loma, I’ve had the space to focus on my personal foundation and prepare for the abundance that Lingerie Leggings is bringing. Attending Dr. Joe Dispenza’s retreat, embedding meditation into my daily ritual, and embracing sobriety have been key steps in building this foundation. I’ve had the opportunity to work twice with Barcelona-based photographer Riccardo Riccio, recently featured in Vogue Italia. Each photoshoot has captured the growth of Lingerie Leggings during its inception period, reflecting the evolution of both the designs and the brand itself.

My mission is to inspire and empower women of all colors, shapes, and sizes to step into their inner avatars—their highest, most vibrant selves.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It’s all about perspective. The journey has been smooth in the sense that I’ve allowed time for the business to be properly built. There have been heart-wrenching and scary moments, learning curves, and challenges. But I wouldn’t say these obstacles “got in the way.” Instead, with every closed door, I’ve found new direction.

Some struggles are universal to both start-ups and seasoned businesses—like becoming more efficient and cost-effective, making informed decisions, mastering various software, keeping up with rapid changes in AI, and trusting my intuition. Ultimately, I’m learning to enjoy the ride as I continue to master these challenges.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Lingerie Leggings offers print-on-demand costume leggings that create the illusion of lingerie, available in a range of skin tones. Each design represents a different character, found in various settings: On Vacation, At the Festival, In the Garden, On Stage, In the Boardroom, or In Your Dreams. This playful concept encourages customers to try them on, embrace the role, and literally “step into their inner avatar.” The designs are organized like the game Clue, which I loved playing as a child.

For every legging sold, a minimum of $1 goes to Susan’s Empowerment Fund, named in honor of my late Aunt Susan, who struggled with anorexia for 30 years. The fund aims to raise awareness and support for those overcoming eating disorders.

I’m incredibly proud of my brand’s ability to innovate in the fashion space, demonstrate a commitment to inclusivity, and act as a catalyst for transformation. On a personal level, it allows me to be inventive, creative, transformative, and expressive. I’m thrilled that our products are sustainable, being print-on-demand and not contributing to the waste that plagues fast fashion. I’m equally proud of our efforts to give back through the fund and support women in the process.

What sets us apart? Heart. These leggings aren’t just costumes; they’re a signed permission slip to step into your power and express yourself—to linger in the character of your best life. What’s the best thing that could happen?

Whether you’re performing on or off the stage, Lingerie Leggings are perfect for festivals and events like Coachella, Comic-Con, Burning Man, Halloween, dance performances, heels classes, bike rides, jiu-jitsu matches, and more. Embrace the experience of stepping into a new skin—whether yours is blemished, burned, wrinkled, or perfectly clear. These leggings are for anyone ready to bring their inner avatar out to play.

Stay tuned—there’s more in the works, from events to new products and digital downloads. The website is launching soon! In the meantime, we’re accepting special orders via direct message on Instagram, Facebook, email, or phone. I’m happy to help you find the perfect match for your skin tone.

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Growing up in the redwoods of Healdsburg on 42 acres with my mom, grandparents, and great-grandma was truly special. I loved the natural sounds around us—the rushing creek, crackling fires, and the occasional call of a mountain lion. Winters were memorable with fallen trees, power outages, and creek floods, making for cozy, home-bound days where we built fires and enjoyed the stormy candlelit nights.

My grandmothers played a significant role in helping my parents raise my older sister and me. Our creativity and interest in nature was encouraged. For playtime, my great-grandma Vi would bring out her poker chips, but not to play poker… to build villages with, on her carpet. I am grateful for the screen-less days where imagination was nurtured in simple ways such as this.

Summers were a highlight, often spent with my dad in San Diego, where we enjoyed the OB Pier’s fireworks and camped at Campland. We would also go gold-panning with my mom in the cold creeks of Northern California. I found joy in exploring nature with my dogs, swimming, dancing, painting, making jewelry, journaling, and drawing—activities that still bring me joy today.
