Today we’d like to introduce you to Jasmine Worth
Hi Jasmine, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I’ve loved art from a very young age, I grew up knowing I wanted to be an artist. My mom was very supportive of my aspirations, keeping my drawings and paintings up around the house and encouraging me to pursue art as a career. I also had a very supportive art teacher in high school, Ms. Bradley. I went on to college and earned my BFA and started showing in galleries. I’ve been doing gallery shows since 2003 and am very grateful to say I have had the opportunity to show with some of my favorite galleries and continue to show with them, La Luz de Jesus Gallery, Modern Eden Gallery, Arch Enemy Gallery, and Last Rites Gallery (until their closing) name a few.
A few years in to my relationship with my boyfriend Terry Ribera he offered me the opportunity to apprentice and learn how to tattoo. Terry and I have been together for over 12 years now and I am coming up on 10 years of tattooing, I think, I’m not great at keeping track of timing. Terry and I have Remington Tattoo in North Park and I’m so grateful to work with him and the amazing crew there.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I have enjoyed every step of my art career, even the bumps along the way were opportunities to learn and grow. I am so grateful to the galleries that show my work, the art enthusiasts that collect my paintings, and the people that get tattooed by me. I have a lot of repeat clients and referrals, and I’m so appreciative of those relationships and friendships and trust I’ve built with those clients over the years.
I took up pottery in the Covid years and I have a little Etsy shop selling my pottery and that has been really fun as well!
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am an oil painter, a tattoo artist, and a pottery dabbler.
Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
I can be found at Remington Tattoo in North Park. My paintings can be seen at JasmineWorthArt.com or at La Luz de Jesus Gallery in Los Angeles, Modern Eden Gallery in San Francisco, or Arch Enemy Arts in Philadelphia. My pottery can be found at Anomaly Pottery on Etsy. Thanks so much for your interest!
