Meet Cathie Duran, Brianna Hammerton, and Bethaney Nelson of Elysian Hair Studio

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cathie Duran, Brianna Hammerton, and Bethaney Nelson.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Cathie, Brianna, and Bethaney. So, let’s start at the beginning, and we can move on from there.
We have all been licensed cosmetologists working in traditional salons for ten+ years. In 2012, our careers merged at a salon in Temecula California, Where we became a very tightknit group of stylists. In May 2017, our salon suddenly closed it’s doors, leaving us to decide what to do next.

Open our own, or search for another salon. We were approached with the idea of opening our own studio. At first, we were doubtful that we could handle such a big responsibility. But after much thought and consideration, we decided to take on the challenge. That’s how Elysian Hair Studio was created.

Has it been a smooth road?
Our first obstacle started when we were given only two weeks notice to leave the place we had called home for so many years. This left us with a fully booked schedule and nowhere to operate. Luckily, one of our coworkers knew of a possible intermittent salon for us to work out of while we figured out what we were going to do next. Fletcher Smith salon graciously took in seven stylists so we could continue to run our business. We stayed there for two months while we were creating a studio of our dreams.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Elysian Hair Studio – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
We are three unique stylists with a passion for the industry. We wanted to create a space for our artistic talents to shine and our clients to feel comfortable. We specialize in a variety of services. Cathie is the extension queen, and Brianna and Bethaney are the Balayge babes. We are so proud of the business we have built and the brand we have created in the last two years. It is very important for us to stay connected and educated which sets us apart from others.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and the least?
Being a hairstylist in Southern California, we are constantly challenged to stay on top of the ever-changing trends. We live in a place of fashion-forward styles and beauty conscious individuals. We love being centrally located between LA and San Diego which gives us a broader clientele. We love what we do and who we do it for.
