Meet Dalton Santos

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dalton Santos.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Dalton. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
My name is Dalton Santos. I am 21 years old and I was born and raised in San Diego. I graduated from Steele canyon high school and I went to Grossmont community college for about two semesters. I realized that school wasn’t for me and I wanted to persue my acting career. I’ve been wanting to act ever since I was a little kid in elementary school. I’ve always loved watching movies as a kid. Ever since, at a young age, I decided I wanted to make acting into a job for myself I have never thought of being in any type of profession. Now that I’m older and on my own, I started getting into a lot of student films in San Diego. I’ve managed to get leads in a couple and I’ve got to work with some amazing actors. Being on set is a type of environment I love being around. I know for myself that I truly love acting for just acting. At the moment, I’m currently working on building my resume and my plan is to eventually move to Los Angeles. My dream is to become a successful actor and to be able to make a living off of what I love to do.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
For a moment, everything was looking good. I’ve been auditioning for several short films and was able to land different roles. There are a lot of things I still need to learn about the industry, like how to get an agent/manager and how to be able to be SAG eligible, etc. With the COVID 19 crisis, everything has been put on hold.

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
Samuel Warren was my acting coach for a while and his on-camera lessons really helped me out. Camie Carpenter also has been sending to auditions around San Diego. And all of my fellow actors who I have met they have given me great advice on how to move up on the industry. Rick Garcia, Lexsy Mckowen, Matiyes Kinker, Shiaslynn Thompson.
