Meet Kristin Quick of Intimate Ceremonies San Diego in Mission Bay

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kristin Quick.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Kristin. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I have been teaching yoga since 2006 and 5 years ago, two of my yoga students asked me to officiate their wedding. I was extremely touched and honored, and I wanted to learn as much as I could about wedding rituals and ceremonies. I had been involved in hundreds of weddings as a florist, but never as an officiant.

I met with a Shaman friend of mine, and learned all I could from his perspective. I also met with a minister and a rabbi and became an ordained minister several months later. And Intimate Ceremonies was born and began blooming! I am often asked what my religion is, and my answer is “Love”. I do not follow any organized religions, and am a non-denominational officiant.

Marriage is the most sacred commitment a person will make, and I am honored and grateful for every wedding I am invited into.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It feels as tho officiating weddings chose me and things began growing naturally after the first ceremony I was asked to perform.
But it has taken years and experience to learn all of the important details, legalities and nuances involved in creating and performing a smooth and hopefully flawless ceremony!

And each couple, location and wedding has its own unique qualities and circumstances too. It is a continual learning and growing process that is the greatest gift and privilege.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Intimate Ceremonies San Diego story. Tell us more about the business.
I have blended my yoga education and experience into the Wedding Ceremony, because there are many yoga principals that connect people to others and themselves. Yoga brings peoples best qualities to the surface and opens hearts. I created a “Couples” yoga practice that supports and strengthens trust, honesty, connection, truth and love as well.

I am told I have a very calming, lovely voice when I Officiate and teach yoga as well.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I am not much of a believer in luck. I feel if I put my best foot forward, show up with an open mind and heart and allow God and the Universe to reveal my path, all that is meant to happen, will unfold.
