Today we’d like to introduce you to Megan Lindsey.
Silver Sage Acupuncture Clinic has been a place of healing and connection for the residents of the San Diego communities for going on 25 years. Literally thousands of patients have walked through the doors and then back out again with a smile on their faces. Back in May 2017, Cheryl Warnke L.Ac. stepped down as acting Acupuncturist and sold the practice to Megan C. Lindsey L.Ac., who carries on the practice with the same loving care and healing touch that Silver Sage Acupuncture is known for.
Has it been a smooth road?
The biggest challenges for me revolve around patient/public education in regards to what acupuncture is and how it can help; and in getting patients to try acupuncture for the first time (after the first time, they’re usually totally hooked. LOL). Eastern and Western medicine speak with two different languages which can be difficult to translate at times. Also, most people don’t know that becoming an acupuncturist requires a great deal of schooling, it’s not just a certificate program, it’s a rigorous Masters/Doctorate level degree. I feel that if more people understood this they would feel a bit more comfortable trying acupuncture because they would trust the medicine a little more.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Silver Sage Acupuncture – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Silver Sage Acupuncture Clinic is a safe haven. It’s like a little sanctuary in the middle of a hectic busy city. Walking into the clinic is instantly relaxing. I take great pride in creating as beautiful and as comfortable of a space as I can for my patients, so that when they come into my office they are able to unload all of their burdens and truly get into a space where they can heal. Everyone is treated with kindness and respect and everyone leaves feeling rejuvenated. I practice traditional Chinese medicine which includes acupuncture, herbal medicine, massage (tuina), heat therapy and nutrition. I treat a person as a whole; mind, body and spirit and I take into account every aspect of a patient’s life to ensure the greatest success rate.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I like that San Diego is like a small town, even though it’s huge. Everyone knows everyone, but in a good way. It’s like one big happy family. It’s really great for a business like mine which are very referral-based. I dislike the quality of the city streets. Especially in the area that my office is located. Not a lot of money goes into maintenance or upkeep which makes some of the areas seem more run-down than they actually are.
