Meet Reyna Real of Real Glam in Vista

Today we’d like to introduce you to Reyna Real.

Reyna, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Ever since I was little, I was passionate about the beauty industry. In my journey of working in the industry I become a mom and wanted to help my family out that pushed me to open a small 600 sq. ft shop. With my dad being deported that gave me the motivation to give it my all. I had a lot on my plate and I knew my family was counting on it with me being head of household.

Has it been a smooth road?
I Believe everyone who is a successful business owner has struggles that’s what makes you successful. I’ve had a lot of struggles but they all have been manageable. One of my hardships was my dad being deported. My second hardship that is still hard for me is my mom passing away. I remember just like yesterday just after opening my second location just at my two-month mark, she passed away. I wanted to give up. I wanted her to be part of her success because she raised me right. I remember when I wanted to give up, I just remember her and the strong-minded women she is and that’s what pushed me to give it my all. I am so thankful she molded me to be strong just like she was.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
My business is really glam and I want everyone to feel beautiful. I specialize in color correction. I also have started make up classes and extension courses to help anyone start their journey in the beauty industry. I want to give everyone the opportunity to put themselves out there in a career there passionate about. I treat people how I want to be treated. Customer service is my number one priority. Being humble is what sets me apart from everyone. My hardships have molded me to be different in this line of work. The proudest moment in my company is when I launched my lash brand and very soon, I will be launching my very own cosmetic brand.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Yes, I believe anywhere that you set your mind to you will become successful and will work for you and your line of business. I believe San Diego is a great city but I believe it’s all in the person itself if they want to succeed, they will.
