Meet Victoria Gersh

Today we’d like to introduce you to Victoria Gersh.

Victoria, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I grew up with the idea that a big, modern house would mean I made it – I was successful. With that dream in mind, I went off to Villanova University with a practical mentality, pursuing a job-solidifying degree in Accounting. It leads to an amazing position at a top-tier accounting firm. Bright-eyed and bushy-tailed at my first training, I thought I was on the path to achieving my dream home and idea of success, little did I know that I had it all backwards.

Turns out, working as a CPA for a global corporation was filled with an unspoken discontent and silent-but-deadly culture of complacency that was rampant across the organization.

I saw and felt first-hand the effects of a less-than-ideal organizational system each day I showed up to work. And so I set off to do something about it.

I left to pursue a Masters in Organizational Leadership and Learning – with a mission of discovering how to build teams and create a culture where people are excited to show up to work every day, not to mention, thrilled about the impact they are making in the world. It was totally risky and out of my zone of practicality.

The responsible career woman in me panicked without the safety of a 401K, benefits and a salary so naturally, I applied for a job. But this time, I went out on a ledge and took a position without the cushy benefits, one that helped me finally uncover the secrets of a thriving culture and happy people.

As part of the application process, I had to record a video explaining why I’d be an awesome fit for the role. Immediately, I was shocked at the desire to get to know me deeper than my one-page resume.

Turns out they thought I was awesome too and so began my life-changing experience on a high-performing, kick-ass team.

It was night and day compared to my last position. Imagine a small team that worked remotely but managed to be connected and devote an hour each Friday to personal development – like what!? Every team member knew and believed in the mission of the enterprise. Employees wanted to be there and so did I! I was heavily bought into the mission.

It became part of my role to keep the team engaged, putting systems and structures in place to make sure employees were 10 out of 10 engaged and wildly waving the organization’s metaphorical foam finger.

I know first hand what it looks like to not care one way or another what happens at work that day.

After seeing the other side… a side of enthusiastic, productive teaming filled with personal development Fridays, joy and freedom… there is no going back.

Period.

After hours and on weekends, I’m a taco lover, jet-setter, and professional soccer player. In the workplace, I’m the Organizational Leadership Consultant and Culture Queen your organization has been waiting for. With over half a decade of experience and study of organizational functioning, I’ve learned the secrets to creating a culture your people desperately want—one of authenticity, ownership and connection. Now, I work with leaders and business owners to radically transform the culture of their organizations – increasing productivity, employee fulfillment and ultimately, profit.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
The hardest part of my journey so far has been taking ownership of it. Believing that I “should” be following a certain path was engrained in my head, so stepping away from that was the most difficult choice I’ve made and make daily. I continuously work on developing resiliency and a belief in myself that is stronger than any external influences. What I find is, the more I show up, share my story and put myself out there, the more connections I make and the more things fall into place.

Please tell us about your work. What should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
We offer one-on-one coaching, speaking and consulting services focused around leading with courage, building and maintaining a high performing team, and creating a remarkable organizational culture. We help streamline your operations, team and culture so your business can flow and your people can grow.

I’ve spent years inside high-performing teams helping them optimize their human resources, productivity and performance. But, I’ve also been on the inside. I know how it feels to be overworked, staying in a job for the benefits and comfy salary and questioning whether my idea of success was actually bollox and it’s not all about the big, fancy house. Your employees could be feeling the same way. We’re here to help you fix that!

What sets Victoria Gersh Consulting apart is we recognize that people are a business’ most valuable asset. We work with you to create a culture where people can truly thrive by cultivating authenticity, ownership and connection.

We can help you develop leadership skills to show up confidently as the leader your team needs, learn how to find and keep AMAZING people and get raving fans inside and outside your organization.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
My definition of success once was a big, nice house. Now, my idea of success is an insatiable desire for growth and impact fueled by connection. And helping create workplaces where people can truly be happy.

I believe we are all here to connect with, learn from, and inspire each other. Success to me is forming relationships that challenge me to adapt, forging my own path, enjoying the journey through travel and time with friends & family, and above all, inspiring others to do the same.
