Becoming an esthetician was not just a career shift. It was a leap of faith. I started Lash DesignHER from the ground up, investing in education, certifications, and constantly refining my skills. In the beginning, I was balancing everything including motherhood, healing from personal loss, and stepping into entrepreneurship. I knew this was not just about lashes, skin, or brows. It has definitely not been a smooth road, but every challenge has shaped both me and Lash DesignHER into what it is today.
One of the biggest challenges was starting over and stepping into something completely unfamiliar. I came from a stable leadership background where I knew exactly who I was professionally. Becoming an esthetician meant becoming a beginner again. I had to invest in myself financially, emotionally, and mentally while building credibility in a new industry. There were moments of uncertainty where I questioned if I was doing enough or moving fast enough, but I stayed committed to my vision.
Balancing motherhood, personal healing, and entrepreneurship was another challenge. As a mom, my responsibility to provide stability never changed, but building a business requires risk, sacrifice, and long hours. There were nights I stayed up studying, refining techniques, planning, and reinvesting everything back into Lash DesignHER instead of taking from it. I understood early on that consistency and discipline would determine the outcome.
Another struggle was learning that growth requires boundaries. In the beginning, I wanted to accommodate everyone, but I realized that in order to build a sustainable and professional business, I had to value my time, my energy, and my worth.
