Meet Liz Grace and Mark Markowitz of Three Chord Justice

Today we’d like to introduce you to Liz Grace and Mark Markowitz.

Liz and Mark, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Three Chord Justice came together in 2008. We’re an Americana Roots band, focusing on original music and paying tribute to legendary artists such as Johnny Cash, Emmylou Harris and Dolly Parton. I grew up riding around in the front seat of a pickup, and the radio was always tuned to the country station. It was a natural fit when I brought my songs to the band, and we started twangin’ together. These days we focus on expanding to bigger and better stages. 2018 is our 10th anniversary as a band! We’re excited to see what the new year brings. We are especially looking forward to our 2018 summer concert tour.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
San Diego has been very good to us! Actually, Mark and I met when he came to audition for the band. We’ve had our struggles like every band, but we stick together.

We’re always true to the song. I’ve always said the music we make together is much bigger and more important than us individually. That “thing” we make deserves respect and often, sacrifice.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Three Chord Justice – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Three Chord Justice is a female fronted, 4-5 piece band featuring some of the finest musicians in town. We specialize in Americana Roots music, both original and covers. We’re known for being a country dance band. We’re the best because we do it all. From 45 minute duos to 5 hour honky-tonk parties, we have it covered. Our passion is gigging. 24/7/365 if we could! We’re lucky to have found a group of musicians who feel exactly the same way.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
2018 is going to be our best year yet! You’ll find us out there, releasing our second record and tearing up SoCal and beyond.
