Meet Rebecca Kasper of Kasper’s Ice Cream Company

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rebecca Kasper.

Rebecca, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I founded Kasper’s Ice Cream Company in the summer of 2024. I am currently a respiratory therapist, and I’ve been in that field for about 22 years now. I absolutely love my job, but I also have a passion for baking. I used to joke with my colleagues that if I could switch careers, I’d be a baker for events because why not? No one ever has a bad day when handed a cookie!
When COVID hit, of course, my job became quite hectic, and the uncertainty with the daily stress got overwhelming. That’s when I seriously started to consider becoming a baker for a change of scenery. I noticed there were already some incredibly talented bakers out there, but I still wanted to do something to make my mark. Then I had an idea- ice cream sandwiches!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Of course, every path to success comes with its ups and downs. From the very beginning, I’ve faced several obstacles, including obtaining the necessary permits and determining what works best with the community while trying to find my place in the baking industry. Since I sell my hand-crafted ice cream sandwiches from an adorable bike cart that brings smiles to any event, it took me showing up three days in a row to the county, talking to everyone I could for hours to find the RIGHT permit. (everyone there was so incredibly helpful and supportive). Then I soon realized that I wouldn’t be able to make my own ice cream at that time, so I spent months looking for the right wholesaler who matched my quality and passion for perfection. Another challenge I faced was my lack of business knowledge. I had spent the last 22 years at a trauma hospital, transitioning to baking, advertising, and connection to the right consumer was a significant adjustment, but it was also exciting.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
At Kasper’s Ice Cream Company, I specialize in handcrafted ice cream sandwiches that bring a unique and memorable dessert experience to any event, whether it is causal to the fanciest. I use freshly baked cookies then pair it with delicious and creamy ice cream that is made the traditional way in old-fashioned freezer instead of modern machines that infuse the ice cream with too much air.

What really sets Kasper’s Ice Cream Company apart from others is the bike. I have a custom-made bike cart that brings a smile to everyone’s face when they see it. From farmer markets, engagement parties, weddings to large corporate event, the bike cart is perfect! It’s an automatic morale booster when you see the complete set-up, which can be customize to any type of event.

On the website you can pick from our four different packages with add-ons if needed. Anywhere from an afternoon office pick-me-up to a large celebration party, there is a package that will fit your need. I will deliver the sweet treats to your location all throughout San Diego County.

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
Adaptability and enthusiasm.

I have the quality of being able to adjust to new conditions and with my willingness to help each customer find their unique package plus paired that with our interest in making each event enjoyable, Kasper’s Ice Cream Company success will be ensuring complete customer satisfaction.
