Today we’d like to introduce you to Wendy McKinney.
Hi Wendy, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
From a UCLA college student cleaning homes as a maid to Financial Services Executive, Non-Profit Executive turned Author, Professional Development Coach, and Motivational Speaker.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Many struggles along the way, working often in male-dominated organizations and often the only person of color, I always had to work twice as hard to prove myself.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
After over 30 years of hard work climbing the ladder in corporate America, I became physically ill and almost died. That’s when I realized I needed to once and for all live a life of “Time Ownership” instead of “Time Management” and truly set boundaries on my BUSY life. After 11 years of writing, I finally published my first book December 27, 2022. Busy Doing What? Making Every Moment Count. Now, my goal is to spread the word and help others pause, stop, and realize their priorities before it is too late. Through the 5 C’s, I hope to help others stop the Busyness and finally live a life of happiness and fulfillment. (5-C’s: Corporations, Colleges, Conferences, Communities, Churches)
We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you.
I believe I have been very fortunate in having some of the best bosses in the world who took a personal interest in my future and helped me along the way.
